Best of the Best: Golf Courses in the Foothills

Golf is fun anywhere, but mountain courses can be unique, scenic and adventurous.

While there are several listed here, there are surprisingly not that many courses specifically in the foothills. Denver has many, and the ski towns of Winter Park and Breckenridge have options, but inbetween there are select few that are as unique and fun as they come. Check out these courses in the foothills of Colorado.

Evergreen Golf Course

Right in downtown Evergreen surrounding the lake lies a Denver City golf course that is built into the mountain. While the majority of the holes are slanted downhill, the course plays short so it’s challenging but you can also score well (makes you feel better at golf) aside from the holes you have to skip because elk are blocking your way. The scenery and views are iconic making this course a bucket-list for sure. Plus, the pricing is reasonable for such a unique course!

Tucked into the rocks of the foothills, this course is a tour in geological and dinosaur history while making it one of the most fun courses to play. In fact, Triceratops footprints, as well as other prehistoric creatures’ fossils, can be viewed near the 12th green.

Let’s go!

With four kids, I don’t get to play golf as often as I once did, so if you’re up for a round in the foothills, count me in!
